Interested in Pilates?
Pilates is a wonderful mind-body exercise, where focus is put on correct breathing, improved stability, balance and increased strength and flexibility. Great emphasis is put on core strength, also known as the "Powerhouse".
Exercises are performed on the mat or on various apparatus. The studio has a reformer, a ladder barrel, MVe chair and Spine Correctors. You will receive one on one, individualized training, which means the focus is on YOUR body.
Faulty posture and alignment, chronic pain form years of misuse or overcompensation, discomfort post-injury; Pilates is an effective method to help target and improve your body's specific needs.
Because Pilates can be modified to provide either a gentle strength training program or a challenging workout, it is suitable both for beginners and for people who already exercise regularly.
We are excited to have Laura Bouche taking over the pilates program!
Laura is a certified BASI (Body Arts and Science International) Pilates, Yoga and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MSBR) meditation instructor.
She was first exposed to Pilates a few years back and was at once captured by the precision of movement and mind-body connection provided by this practice. Her strong curiosity about body mechanics, structural alignment and passion for movement ultimately inspired her to pursue a certification in BASI Pilates in Denver, Colorado.
Her yoga training began while living in Switzerland and continued in Boulder, Colorado. She became certified under the tutelage of prominent Ashtanga teacher Richard Freeman. The depth of these yoga studies led her to a MSBR meditation certification from Naropa University in Boulder. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering from the University of Texas.
She is enthusiastic about teaching Pilates, Yoga and Meditation to students of diverse backgrounds and athletic abilities in a welcoming environment.
